Nordstil is committed to a future-oriented consumer goods industry and sees sustainability as a guiding principle. For the event as well as for Hamburg as a trade fair location.
Our measures for a sustainable event

Sustainable event venue
Hamburg Messe and the Congress Centre Hamburg (CCH) are leading examples of sustainable trade fair infrastructure. The CCH has been awarded the DGNB Gold certificate. It uses 100% green electricity, has one of the largest green roofs in Europe and pays particular attention to accessibility and biodiversity.

Sustainable trade fair organisation
Nordstil pursues concrete measures to reduce its ecological footprint. These include largely dispensing with disposable carpets, using long-lasting plants instead of cut flowers, free drinking water dispensers, paperless ticketing and guided tours that draw attention to sustainable aspects.

Climate-friendly gastronomy
Hamburg trade fair catering partner Käfer focuses on sustainability through regional and seasonal products, a 30% share of vegetarian and vegan dishes and the avoidance of convenience food and synthetic additives. Events are organised in a CO₂-neutral way - with e-mobility, reusable concepts and CO₂ compensation.

From the region for the region
Nordstil is deeply rooted in the Hamburg region. As a platform for regional suppliers, it is actively committed to sustainability and social responsibility. For its tenth anniversary in 2024, Nordstil donated 20 trees in cooperation with the PLANT-MY-TREE foundation, thus making a regional contribution to CO₂ compensation. In addition, the floral hall decorations from the winter edition were reused and now decorate classrooms at the Ida-Ehre school in Hamburg.

Responsible partnerships
As part of Messe Frankfurt, Nordstil pursues a comprehensive sustainability strategy that is aligned with the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Fairconstruction, the stand builder and subsidiary of Messe Frankfurt, mainly uses reusable elements. 90% of the exhibition waste is recycled and the carpet used is Cradle to Cradle Certified® Bronze.
